Vintage 1940 Epiphone Zephyr Tenor Blond for Repair-Restoration 1940's

Description: This listing is for a Vintage 1940 Epiphone Zephyr Tenor Archtop Tenor Guitar. This guitar was made Epiphone in 1940. The serial number dates the guitar accurately. The guitar will need work but is an excellent candidate for a professional restoration. This guitar came out of a collection of tenor guitars. The biggest issue is that the electronics are just very old and will need to be worked on. The pickup does have some soft output but it's clearly not working properly and the knobs aren't really doing anything. Our best guess on what would need to be done would to would be the replace the pots and the leads to the pickup and if that doesn't fix the pickup then a pickuprewind would likely be necessary. The instrument shows very heavy wear but is quite playable and the neck angle looks good. The pickguard is missing but the bracket is intact and the screws are frozen. It appears the pickguard likely disintegrated and blemished the top in the process. The tuners are original and in very good shape for their age. The knobs are changed and the Bikini logo is missing. The bridge and tailpiece are original. There is a filled hole in the side from an old input jack, see picsThere is a cool Patent info plate on the back of the headstock and this model has an original access panel built into the back so fixing the electronics may not be that challenging. The guitar comes with the case pictured which is extremely rough but the guitar will be expertly packed for safe shipping.Please look at the pictures and message with questions.
