Wonderful dress from Jacques if Chicago a Chicago retailer that was located at 545 N Michigan in the heart of Chicago’s mag mile Jacques sold evening gowns and furs , many of them copies of the French couture his wife would purchase at the Paris couture shows This gown is reminiscent of a Schiaparelli day dress with it’s shoulder detail and plaid cumber-band which is part of the dress and threads through a loop at one side . Like all the other dresses that came in with this estate this just slips on over the head with no closures Note the detail at the shoulders with the little non functional buttons that fasten with little loops and the swag in the front skirt of the dress This has aJacques label and a label from the Fashion Originators Guild , a short lived organization formed by independent designers to prohibit design theft This is gently worn in very good condition Approx measurements 40-34-40 length approx 58
