Description: THIS ITEM MEASURES 3.2 IN X 3.2 IN. The 191st Aviation Company was activated on 18 November 1966 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The first commanding Officer was Major Richard C. Winesette. The 191st deployed to Vietnam, arriving there on 24 May 1967 at Bearcat in III Corps. While at Bearcat the company officially became the 191st Assault Helicopter Company with their "Slicks" becoming known as the "Boomerangs" and their “Gunships” as the "Bounty Hunters" and operated under the call signs of "Boomerangs" and the “Bounty Hunters”. The 191st AHC was assigned to the 1stAviation Brigade’s 214th Combat Aviation Battalion. On 21 June 1967 the 191st were declared operational ready and assumed their duties in III Corps Tactical Zone. The Boomerangs and Bounty Hunters AO was a Delta Area from Nha Be on the Dong Nai River south and southeast to Dong Tam on the My Tho River. This area was mostly flat terrain dominated by Rice Paddies and covered by water for most of the year. The 191st were dedicated to serving the 9th Infantry Division until they departed in 1969. The 191st began supporting ARVN Units in the Delta Regions of III Corps until standing-down in September 1971.
