Description: VIETNAM ERA RANDALL MADE KNIFE RMK MODEL 14 "ATTACK" w/ 7 5/16" BLADE NO SHEATH. Original OD paracord thong. Visible verdigris on portion of brass guard which rested against its leather sheath (not included). No nicks that I can see or feel on the cutting edge. Wickersham's 2007 book, RANDALL KNIVES, at bottom of p. 95 (caption for Photo 88) states: "Brass ferrule lanyard-hole liners would become standard on most Micarta (TM) handled full-tang knives by the end of (1972)." Consequently, this knife must have been made prior to 1973, because it does not have the brass lanyard-hole liner. Robert Gaddis' 1993 book, RANDALL MADE KNIVES, states on p. 206, "During January 1966...(and) Throughout the remainder of the Vietnam War, the Model 14 Attack was a runaway leader in individual GI orders." The item will be insured for sale price; eBay's shipping calculator does not factor insurance cost, but I do. I do not "Send offer" discounts.
