This vintage crystal receiver was manufactured in 1923 by Arthur G. Foulds (A.G.F) Ltd., located on Dunedin Street, Edinburgh. A 1920s vintage crystal detector or receiver set housed in a polished mahogany case with a base measuring 10¼ inches x 8½ inches and standing 7 inches high. The receiver with open galena detector has the original working instructions to the underside of the lift up lid. It has the A.G.F. logo on the front of the case and an ebonite control panel with connection points for the aerial, earth and headphones. The controls comprise a COARSE tuning selector switch and a FINE tuning knob and a lever to adjust the crystal detector. Tuning uses a variometer and turning the knob will change the resonant frequency of the tuned circuit. Details: Dimensions: 10¼ x 8½ x 7 inchesCondition: Complete and well-preserved for its age It has not been tested and is in "as found condition" but appears to be in very good condition with no damage. Cosmetically, a few minor surface marks and scuff but excellent for its age. Perfect for collectors or vintage electronics enthusiasts.
