Charges up fully. Through the Gizmo app, you can assign certain phone numbers for the child to call and you can call the watch. It is a great way for your child to have some communication ability but no give them a phone with access to everything. We took this off our Verizon account. I factory reset it. If you want to use this, you will have to activate it and add it to your Verizon account. Then, you will have to set it up with the Gizmo app that you can download to your adult phone. I believe it is not unlocked. It worked with Verizon and I did not "free" it from Verizon's tether. I don't know if it can work with another cellular provider. From what I understand, cellular devices can be freed by contacting the cellular provider and they can transfer the IMEI over to another carrier. These look to go for $25 or more online. If you buy it new from Verizon, you will pay for it monthly with some sort of contract that is not a contract for 12-36 months. You can buy new wristbands online for fairly cheap.
