The medal was handmade in France. The 2" two-toned crucifix was made in Italy. The chaplet itself was designed and handmade by me in our home in the USA. All 15 beads are 8 mm, smooth, round, natural, genuine semi-precious gemstones. The Our Father bead is an Amethyst and the 10 Hail Mary beads are Tree Agate. He returned to Venezuela and dedicated the next 25 years to teaching, medicine and religious practice. He wanted to become a priest but his frail health did not permit it. H became a leading doctor, researched and published articles, and had a reputation for treating the poor for free. He was struck by a care while delivering medicine to one of his poor patients and died at age 54. After his death, miracles were attributed to him, and doctors began to receive help in both spiritual and medical matters that they attributed to his intercession. He was declared venerable in 1985.The prayer cards which come with our rosaries, medals and pictures are home-made, created using a "greeting card" program on a computer and printed in full color on nice quality paper. Although they are not like the usual smaller professionally printed prayer cards, most of our customers prefer them since they are like a pamphlet with 4 "pages" and several images, prayers, patronages and often other information about the saint or Catholic devotion.
