Behind the Music: First, a little real talk about the LP medium. This pressing represents MFSL at their best, with great care taken in remastering so that full dynamic range can be enjoyed. Nevertheless, there is the occasional pop or tick. This is inescapable with vinyl, as air bubbles get trapped in the material. You say LPs sound better than CDs? Then you must enjoy pops and ticks! With that off my chest, I can say that the renowned Sir Georg Solti leads his forces thru a splendid rendering of this “old war horse.” The themes Holst came up with to paint these portraits of our neighbors in space are marvelous, indelibly memorable.
