Blanche Faye Shoemake Obituary April 18, 1916 – May 16, 2007 We mourn the passing of Blanche Faye "Mama Blanche" Shoemake, wife of F.V. Shoemake (deceased 2004), founding Pastor of The First United Pentecostal Church of San Jose, California. Blanche and F.V. married in December of 1932, and were devoted partners in marriage and ministry, including the pastorate of several congregations in Oklahoma and California.Blanche possessed a gentle spirit, and had a kind word for everyone with whom she had contact. She was an accomplished artist and writer, creator of many beautiful paintings as well as author of an autobiography. She will be deeply missed by her family, church, and many friends in the community.Blanche is survived by four children: son Rev. Jimmy Shoemake (San Jose, CA) and three daughters Nita Hodges (Chula Vista, CA), Dayna Jones (Austin, TX) and Regina Theobald (Discovery Bay, CA); two brothers: Rev. James Kilgore (Houston, TX) and Joseph Kilgore (Sacramento, CA); two sisters: Omeda Nichols (Sacramento, CA) and Odetta Wilburn (McAllister, OK); 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.Visitation will be from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N.
