United HO Brass N&W 2-6-6-4 A Class #1212 Weathered, Pittman Motor, Runs

Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I am offering this United Scale Models (operated in Japan 1954-1990) HO scale brass Norfolk & Western 2-6-6-4 A Class steam locomotive #1212, painted and weathered. I have the original box in VG/P6 condition along with the original wrappings (see PICs) plus some plastic wrappings with the United logo. No literature. Research indicates it may be a 1962 run equipped with a Pittman DC 71B motor. I tested the loco on a test track (no curves) and it ran fairly well at medium – higher speeds; but, had some hesitation at start-up and lower speeds. Wheels need cleaning and it could probably use some lubrication. The loco is used showing some dust. Almost every picture reveals some brass showing, nothing major; but, quite a bit. With the weathered look and all the fine detail, it is hard to tell if there are any other flaws. There are no brakes; but, research indicates that was standard for this model in this era.
