Description: Ultra Rare Dieges & Clust pin Centennial French Revolution end 1899 ALAMO IMAGEWill bet you will never see another one again. Purchased over 40 years ago in antique shop in North Dakota. Dieges & Clust were jewelers located on John Street in New York at the turn of the century (opened shop in 1898). To celebrate the 100 anniversary of the ending of the French Revolution , they created a very, very limited number of "Liberty Pins", four different designs, each with a different American symbol of freedom (such as the Statue of Liberty - the most common design produced out of the four) combined with the image of a Phrygian Cap (worn by the Citizen of France during the Revolution) and the number '99 symbolizing the years 1799 (ending of the Revolution) and 1899 (Centennial celebration of the Revolution), and surrounded with laurel leaves (symbolizing victory). The one I have for sale has the American symbol of freedom the Alamo on it (SUPER COOL). Have seen 1 or 2 of the other designs in the past (most notably the Statue of Liberty design), but never this one. Read an article years ago that this image was the LEAST produced (maybe as few as 8 total) and therefore almost impossible to find. Overall, there were a total number of 50 "Liberty Pins" produced using the four designs. Hate to part with it, but downsizing my collection, so somebody buy it before I change my mind. Hope it brings someone as much enjoyment as it has me.
