Description: Tsukasa Hinoura Ajikataya Kennata handmade traditional Japanese hunting/outdoors knife. The Ajikatya Kennata is an incredible knife, hand forged by the legendary Tsukasa and Mutsumi Hinoura at the world famous Hinoura Hamono blacksmith shop in Sanjo City, Niigata prefecture. There is literally nothing this knife can't do. Hunting, camping, cooking, construction, survival, and even gardening. I have personally used mine for all of the above, and the blade has held up incredibly well. This knife has an SK5 Tool Steel cutting edge wrapped in dead soft steel. This gives an incredible and durable HRC of 64-65. Razor sharp edge that will hold over time and will take a beating without bending or breaking. Handle is Japanese white oak with a buffalo horn ferrule. Tang length varies from 1/2 to 3/4 because of the nature of hand made blades. Blade length of 6 3/4 inches, overall length 12 7/8 inches. This knife comes with a custom made wooden and leather sheath that bares the kanji for the Hinoura Hamono blacksmith. Very limited numbers are available and it may be several years before Hinoura Hamono makes any more. This is the perfect gift for the knife collector, yourself, or the outdoorsman in your life.
