Mangelsen (lower right - see pictures). Professional Frame and MatExcellent condition (see pictures) Curled up in the protection of his cave on a late-winter morning, a seven-month-old mountain lion cub settles into his mother's arms at the dawn of a new day. There is often confusion among what is and isn't a mountain lion. The species, Puma concolor, is native to the Americas. In South America, this cat is commonly called a puma; mountain lions of the eastern United States are often referred to as cougars; while in Florida, the subspecies Puma concolor coryi is properly called a panther. Along with these names, mountain demon, deer tiger, and catamount have also been used as references to the mountain lion.
