Thinner by Stephen King (1984, Hardcover) First Edition NAL Vintage

Description: This copy of Thinner by Richard Bachman was published in 1984. We find out much later that Bachman is really Stephen King making it all the better. This original 1984 FIRST EDITION is a find and is very sought after. The book itself cover and interior and binding is in very good condition there is some minor shelf wear. There is a slight speckled stain on the top side page edges. May be some dust from shelf storage. Dust cover has some wear issues noted in pictures. There is a some scuff wear on folded sides and bottom and top. There is a small tear out of bottom back side on jacket. There are small folds on interior edge of dust jacket from closing book. All shown in pictures. Cool stuff about this very hard to find 1st edition, it is an NAL New American Library copy as well. My favorite part as an avid King fan is that the back dust jacket cover includes a picture of "Richard Bachman" who is obviously not Stephen King who by 1984 had become a huge success with books like Carrie, The Shining and The Stand etc. The picture is of an insurance agent who worked for King's literary agency, a man named Richard Manuel. The picture was taken by a photographer named Claudia Inez Bachman. See what he did there?? He has a quirky sense of humor for sure. Anyway all these little things make this book something very special. For those who didn't read this yet. Let's just say it is a be careful what you wish for tale that reminds us that how we treat people in life can have far reaching effects. Happy Shopping!
