Basically set in the Psychedelic/Folk Rock genre ~ the band is comparable with the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band meets Jefferson Airplane/Peanut Butter Conspiracy "SF SOUND"... in fact the West Coast rock elements are ther complimented by hammering organ, fuzz guitar and strong female singing. The improvisational work calling a memory of the Jefferson Airplane, and a couple of well preformed covers with different arrangents that work, as in the hippie anthem "Let's Get Together", and also Donovans "Catch the Wind" is present and a kind of fresh version. The Yankee Dollar was originally known as "Pacific Grass & Electric" but the band's name was changed by lengendary music producer Frank Slay (Strawberry Alarm Clock) who was worried that the band's ("Pacific Grass & Electric") name would inhibit its station play on the conservative "Drake Radio Stations" (i.e. Bill Drake banned one of Slay's previous groups, "Rainy Daze" when he discovered that their hit record "That Acapulco Gold" was actually about purchasing drugs).
