Description: The Town Dweller: His Needs and Wants, by J. Milner Fothergill, M.D.(New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1889) First American edition in very good condition. Brown cloth covers with some wear around the edges and corners, a bit of rubbing on front cover. "On the degeneration of the human race due to town living" is pencilled on the front endpaper. Of interest is the Fraser Institute Free Public Library (Montreal) dedication bookplate of J. Cradock Simpson, who was a the owner of one of the oldest real estate firms in Montreal. His signature is on the title page. The text is clean, with a pen mark on page 18. The hinges are strong with no cracks. A tidy little antique book with an interesting and ironic provenance.
