A witch’s altar is on display, prepped for poppet magick. Often seen as a negative force, poppet magick can be performed sympathetically and used to bring forth health, love, prosperity, and protection. Carved into the wood, The Sun’s scale and placement on the altar exhibits its essentiality to all living beings. It is a symbol of the light that shadows even the darkest nights. Situated below the carving, four sunflowers are carefully arranged. The flowers’ genus implies a direct correlation with The Sun. They are frequently used in magick for their glowing energy and connection to the root chakra. The number of sunflowers correlate to the four elements while the quantity of skulls corresponds to the four suits of the Minor Arcana. The skulls’ employment in this scene represents the renewed usage of those whose purpose had previously come to an end. Directly above, the melting white candle wax highlights a theme of purity as the flickering candlelight glow reflects off the various objects assorted on the table, alluding to the sunlight’s influence on all things.
