The Lockhorns are a married couple, Leroy and Loretta, who constantly argue (much like the Bickersons, a classic old time radio show starring Don Ameche and Frances Langford as a battling married couple). Leroy and Loretta demonstrate their mutual deep-seated hatred by making humorously sarcastic comments on each other's failings as spouses. Good stuff!! Many of the business and institutions depicted in the strip are real places located in or near Huntington, New York on the North Shore of Long Island. The cartoon feature began as a single-panel daily on September 9, 1968, with the Sunday feature launched April 9, 1972. After Bill Hoest's death in 1988, the Lockhorns have been continued by Bunny Hoest and John Reiner. This outstanding book reprints over 150 daily Lockhorns cartoons. There is some general cover wear including some edge and corner wear and spine stress (see the scan), but this RARE book is still in very goode condition. No collection of the Lockhorns items is complete without this outstanding book.
