Description: Title: The Islamic View Of Jesus (PBUH) Full Description: In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful All praise and thanks are due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his kith and kin, his Companions and all those who follow in their footsteps until the Day of Judgement. Whosoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whosoever He leads astray will never find guidance. The personality of Jesus (peace be upon him) has been a subject of disagreement and controversy between Islam and Christianity. While Christians consider Jesus a son of God or God, Muslims believe that he is a mere Prophet of Allah whose mission was to confirm the Torah revealed before him, call to monotheism and give glad tidings of the coming of Prophet Muhammad after him. It was this difference over the personality of Jesus that has kept the followers of the two religions apart. It is an article of Muslims' creed to repose faith in all Prophets of Allah as well as the Divine Scriptures revealed to them. Muslims have been commanded to revere all Prophets with no distinction. In the words of the Glorious Qur'an. "The Messenger believeth in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith, each one (of them) believeth in Allah, His angels, His Books, and His Messengers. "We make no distinction (they say) between one and another of His Messengers." (Al-Baqarah: 85) Thus, Muslims hold all Prophets of Allah in high esteem and place them on am equal footing. A Muslim believes in Jesus as he or she believes in Muhammad (peace be upon both of them.) In additon to this, a Muslim who disbelieves in any of Allah's Prophets is deemed a disbeliever, according to the Qur'an and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, and is supposed to be killed in a state where Islamic law is applied. Even a mere attempt to impeach or accuse Jesus (peace be upon him) of committing a sin is regarded as an act of disbelief, because Muslims believe that all Prophets of Allah are infallible and not liable to sin. This is not a lip service, it is the dictate of the Qur'an and Sunnah. Our love of Jesus (peace be upon him) knows no bounds, and our feelings towards him run so deep that we give our children the names of Jesus and Mary. However, Muslims do believe that Allah Almighty is far and above having a child or a partner in His divinity, and therefore they reject any belief that over-exalts Jesus above what Allah Almighty wants him to be. The Islamic View of Jesus aims at presenting a true picture of Jesus in Islam, and shows how Christians deviated from his teachings. The book also throws light on the beliefs that Muslims associate with Jesus, such as his Virgin Birth, being able to speak in the cradle, performing miracles, and the descent of Jesus before the end of the world. We hope that the book will help our Christian brothers understand the attitude of Islam towards Jesus, and show clearly how Muslims respect Jesus and reject all what undermines his status.
