Christian Marjory Waller (1894 -1954) was an Australian printmaker, illustrator, muralist and stained-glass artist. Her work, and that of her husband Napier Waller, was influenced by a combination of art deco, romanticism and mythology. In 1932 she registered the Golden Arrow Press and published a volume of linocuts under its imprint. She then began preparation of 'The Gates of Dawn', drawing the elaborate script and illustrations directly onto lithographic plates. She completed the project but it was not published before her death in 1954. In 1977 her niece, the potter Klytie Pate, published with Gryphon Press an edition limited to 1,000 copies produced using photo-lithography. She took great care to ensure that the choice of paper, binding and printing produced a result worthy of the original. This edition is numbered 706 of 1000 produced, and has been signed by Klytie Pate. Format: HardcoverPublisher: Gryphon Books (1977)Edition: Limited Edition #706/1000Language: English
