This model PEC is specifically used in The Fisher 400C, 400CX and 400CX-2 preamps, and perhaps many other Fisher integrated amplifiers. The sound improvement is immediately noticeable. The components on this board are the same values and arrangement as appearing on the schematic, so no modifications to the original sound. Where the improvement happens is that these new components are miniature film capacitors and 1% tight tolerance resistors. The original units used ceramic capacitor construction and resistor tolerances were much looser than 1%. Installation is easy, just snip the leads from the original part, insert the leads into the numbered holes and solder. There is also a ground plane built into the new part for additional shielding. A ground wire to the chassis ground shall be soldered into this hole I am showing examples of the new components installed in my Fisher, 400C and 400CX-2 preamps.
