Description: The Dice Man New York: William Morrow Company, 1971. Inscribed to former owner on page facing title page, signed "Luke Rhinehart." First edition. Near Fine in toned Near Fine unclipped dust jacket with creased front flap, a few tiny slightly-soiled nicks and a tiny tear near foot. xi, 305 pp. Black paper-covered boards and white cloth spine lettered in black and metallic red. Laid in is a follow-up letter from the same owner dated 2-14-97 asking author about his pen name: "do you go by Luke Rhinehart or George Cockroft?" He also asks if the road the author lives on (Luke Hill Road) was named after him or just a coincedence. The author replies below on the same sheet, "I am both George + Luke." Then he says the road was named "by chance, naturally"-- fitting for this cult classic novel of chance. It is quite scarce signed.
