Description: Te Ngangana a Te Tuvalu / Handbook on the Language of the Ellice Islands by Donald Gilbert Kennedy. Extremely rare original first edition, published 1946 and printed in Sydney, Australia (I think for the Government Printing Office of Fiji, implied in the Preface but not explicitly stated). 82pp in stiff boards with a taped spine; the cover is now loose, as is the center 2-page fold (pp. 39-42) but all present, and overall well worn as seen in the photos. Scans of this can be found, but actual printed copies are extremely scarce and hard to find outside of major libraries. This copy from the library of noted Pacific anthropologist Bernd Lambert with his signature along with that of a previous owner inside the front board. Buyer will prepay item + shipping as determined by the shipping calculator; if you don't see the shipping option you prefer, please contact me as I can probably accommodate your needs (but I do always try to select the option that offers the best value as the main pick). I'm always happy to do combined shipping so long as they're pieces that can safely ship together, but I do appreciate communication so I know what to expect. Sales tax should be automatically applied as applicable, and as always is the responsibility of the buyer. I try to ship within a day of getting notice of payment, but always as quickly as possible in any case. Please take a look at my other listings, I try to keep it interesting and will be listing a number of good books on Puerto Rico, Native America, archaeology and anthropology, and other topics.
