It is a large piece among his square plate works, and is very thick and heavy. His signature is on the bottom of plate. Tatsuzo Shimaoka (1919-2007) He is a potter with a kiln in Tochigi Prefecture Mashiko area. He studied under the great potter Shoji Hamada. His preeminent work has won many awards. He was given the great honor of being named a Japanese Living National Treasure in 1996. In particular, his inlaid pottery is reputation. Very good Condition. No chips, no cracks.
