Size: 15.5 inches. Year: 1983. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Free of any structural defects. Minor traces of prior use may detectable. Fittings: Ebony. Strings: brand new set of Thomastik-Infeld Dominant. Accessories: sold separately (please see Accessory Option below). If you purchase instrument only, it will be shipped with its original case which is made in Japan (1980s vintage, woodcore, black cover, yellow interior). High grade (orchestra professional) viola by Suzuki Violin Co. Model No. 5 (which ranks above the intermediate No. 2 and the advanced No. 25 and No. 3 models). Made in 1983 in Nagoya, Japan.This beautifully viola fashions high grade, select tone wood - the back is strongly flamed with a narrow, regular horizontal stripe pattern. The varnishing is complex, with multiple layers applied. The raftsmanship is flawless. This viola is characterized by a pleasant velvety sound, with rich overtones and resonance and an excellent balance across the entire range. It would offer a rewarding experience to the skilled player. The viola is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, repairs, or seam separations. There are minor traces of prior use; however overall, the cosmetic condition is excellent. Please review the images carefully. Play-ready. Equipped with a brand new set of Dominant strings (which retails for $95 on Amazon).
