Description: This is one of the hardest Uniforms to find 1905 model hat insignia ,because it is not only named, Irving C. ,but it has the 55th coastal artillery unit crossed cannons on the collar, and his silver first lieutenant bars ,it has the two campaign ribbons ,with five battle stars. The overseas hat has stamped AMERICAN BRAND ,and Wittemore name. I believe this uniform was Irving C. Whittemore senior, from ww1 , he went to Harvard, and was in the army early , his son was in WW2& Korea. I think his son used his uniform in plays , it say concord player, FROM CONCORD VERMONT. The red shields on the epaulettes I'm sure are having to do with this unit ,but I'm not sure what they represent, they have screw on backs.
