Stunning LORD & TAYLOR 1940s Vtg Retro Black Beaded Evening Coat Womens S 6-8

Description: This gorgeous, full-length black wool opera/evening coat from the 1940s is reminiscent of old Hollywood glamor. Because the coat is black and has a light-absorbing texture, it's hard to show the elegant details in photos. I lightened the black to show detail as much as I can, but it really is a very dark jet black coat. The wool has a very subtle herringbone pattern. The real amazing thing though, is the cellophane straw embroidery, front and back, which is accented with jet beads. 23" sleeves are slightly belled.This is the most unique 1940s coat I have ever run across in 40 years of collecting.The cellophane at first looks like beading. The coat closes with 3 covered buttons from the waist up to the neck. This coat is remarkable for its excellent condition. There is no size label, and we show it on a size 6 mannequin, which it fit nearly perfectly.. Please refer to the measurements for guidance regarding the actual size.
