Description: This is a fun and eccentric small book. In its 64 pages it presents very short reflections on the prayers and lessons of the church year in the Episcopal church. For instance, for the first Sunday after Trinity, the theme is “our mortal nature.” The short reading starts with the Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall poem and then jumps to how like Humpty Dumpty “Adam two fell and had a great fall.” Some of the other readings “famous authors, or tell anecdotes that make the prayers and lessons of the day more easily understood. It’s simply a unique and creative way of making the Sundays of the church year accessible to parishioners. I could see using small clips like this in a bulletin insert for a Sunday bulletin, or in one of those digital Bible studies and announcements I sent out each week to my parish by email, or as the start for a children’s message. let’s face it, every pastor knows sometimes you need a little inspiration to make your services come alive for people of all ages. And right here for less than the price of a meal at McDonald’s you’ve got a whole bunch of inspiration waiting for you. Retired priest/professor and I’m looking for a good home for all of those books. I’ve collected over the years. This is just too much fun to throw away, so please consider adopting it and taking it to yours home to give it a new life.
