Description: Steve Martin authentic “autograph” card from his personal collection . Shipped with USPS First Class. This is a rare opportunity to own a hilarious and limited piece of memorabilia from one of entertainment’s most iconic stars! Steve Martin famously gave these pre-printed cards out when fans would ask for an autograph (footnote link 1) for about 6 months in the 80’s. He ultimately abandoned the idea as he felt fans wanted a more personal experience with him (footnote link 2). The remaining cards went in a desk drawer for over 30 years. In July 2020, Steve cleared out some of his archives and sold them off for charity through the reputable Julien’s Auction House (footnote link 3) and the remaining cards were unearthed. There are a limited number of these cards remaining, and once they’re gone, they’re gone! Stephen Glenn Martin (born August 14, 1945) is an American actor, comedian, writer, producer, and musician. Martin came to public notice in the 1960s as a writer for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and later as a frequent host on Saturday Night Live. In the 1970s, Martin performed his offbeat, absurdist comedy routines before packed houses on national tours. Since the 1980s, having branched away from comedy, Martin has become a successful actor, as well as an author, playwright, pianist, and banjo player, eventually earning Emmy, Grammy, and American Comedy awards, among other honors.
