We use a Presidium Gem Tested when applicable and/or a diamond beam. Many stones are not listed on the tester such as apatite, bixbite, etc., so we GUESS. The only way to certify a stone to be natural is to send it to the GIA in New York. Commercial presidium gem testers can't differentiate between lab created and natural stones. The GIA charges $150 or more PER ITEM to certify a stone. You are always welcome to return an item if we have made a mistake or you don't like it. I would never mislead you. I'm a jewelry collector too! :) We measure the gemstones as best we can. If we can't get an exact measurement due to the setting, we measure including the bezel. Measurements and carat weight are estimates and are not exact.ACID TESTING INFO: Vintage items will always have wear and stamps are often worn off or impossible to see. This is why we acid test every item. When we show the acid test, the scratch glows blue for sterling silver and disappears with plated metals.
