Description: Rare and unusual astrological publication. S.T.A.R. Journal. Spring 1975. First issue, published by Scientific Thought in Astrological Research, Inc (STAR). Editor in Chief, Mary Barry. Astrologer Mary Barry was editor in chief of the journal and president of S.T.A.R. From what I can put together Barry started a "college" in 1974 or thereabouts that was run out of her home at 45 Sherman Bridge Road in Wayland, MA. Teachers included Darrell Martinie, well known to Boston radio listeners in the 1970s and 80s as the "Cosmic Muffin". Martinie was also the Psychology Editor for the journal with a column included in this issue. This issue, the first published, includes "mini-interviews" with the teachers, a student page, book report, calendar of upcoming astrological seminars and symposiums, and sections on science, astronomy, psychology and research. The feature article, The Capricon Point, is written by Mary Barry. Other contributors and teachers included Ruth Lennon, Kathy McGovern, Jeanne O'Brien, Ruth Lennon, Paula Mazzio, Rita Channell, Therese Sweeney, Phllis Patton, Ray Ducharme, Roger Volans, and Mark Feldman. 8.5" x 7". 44 pp. An interesting artifact of an organization / endeavor that seems lost to history.
