Description: 5-T11-A This is a Stanley Bailey No 5 jack plane, Type 11 (1910 - 18). The plane has been cleaned, lapped, and sharpened. The iron is ground and honed to 30° at 1200 grit. The plane is approximately 70% original japanning, but due to the rusting and exposed metal areas it was given a light coat of high gloss, high lacquer paint for protection. The front screw hole in the tote was wobbled-out due to undertightening, so it was drilled out, plugged, and redrilled to a tight spec. The old screw was worn and replaced with a new, 12-24, brass screw. The lever cap is a Type 6A (1891-92), so it is not a period piece. Shipping will be USPS Priority Flat Rate Mail (medium box). If I am able to combine shipping, I will be happy to do so, just bring it to my attention, keeping in mind that weight and size issues may (but not necessarily) increase the rate. Payment is required within 48 hours of the end of the auction. We will make every effort to ship the next day once payment is made.
