Hardcover. Bound in purplish-burgundy publisher's cloth. Plain covers. Gilt lettering on the spine. Head, foot and fore-edges have been sprinkled red ink. Dual columned. Illustrated with black and white advertisements throughout along with occasional black and white photographs. Contains church schedules, news, services, fund information, rosters of church workers choirs, Sunday Schools, district visitors, and "Ward" representatives. Lists records of Holy Baptisms, Holy Matrimonies, and collections during the month for things such as church expenses, choir boys treat, for the sick and needy, and the "Save the Children" fund. Also contains detailed monthly church calendars, holiday event information, and letters from the church Rector, W. Edelman Kemp, and other communication regarding the Parish. The third volume (years 1920-1923), contains an 8.5" x 5.25" Monthly Parish Paper for January 2021 - September 1921, bound in. Some Clergy members/Churchwardens/Parish Sisters/Organists listed within these volumes are: Mr. W. Edelman Kemp, Rev. St. Andrew F,. St. John, Mr. A. Lander, Mr. F. W. Shovelton, Sister Amy, Sister Millicent, Mr. Arthur Billingsley. The first volume (1916-1917), contains index of advertisers. All volumes are unpaginated. Interestingly, this Parish building, originally built in 1880, became the home to the Manchester Climbing Centre in about 2004, an impressive facility aimed at experienced climbers and novices looking for exercise and a little adventure.CONDITION: All three volumes are in overall "very good" condition with wear, discoloration and fading to all covers and spines. Corners are slightly bumped and there are several dents in the edges, particularly on volume two (1918-1919). All spines have been sunned. Leaves have unevenly toned with foxing and discoloration occasionally throughout. Foxing is particularly prevalent within the endpapers. Some occasional marginalia seemingly from the period, and previous owner's name is written on the front pastedown within volume one. Quite an interesting peek into Manchester living and religious devotion, circa the early 20th century. Additional photos available upon request. Full refund if not satisfied.
