Description: Two feathered birds in a gilded cage sing a call and response canary song. The embossed gold plated cage and base are in very good condition with inlaid "rubies."Both feathered birds are animated, only one turns but both move their beaks and tails as they sing in turn. The wind-up mechanism works beautifully.Typically made in Germany, this "automaton" is not signed. I see similar ones by Alpa Probably about 60 years old, this charming vintage music box is 11" tall including the hanging loop and 6 1/2" diameter at base.It was serviced as the condition I got it it was not working. Please watch the Video. It appears to have a softer volume.
