Description: LENORE KANDEL - A PLACE TO STAND (PRINTED LETTERPRESS) PLUS A BOOK OF HER COLLECTED POEMS, 2012. The letterpress-printed broadside poem was published in 2004 by Sore Dove Press. It was a signed edition. The press made a mistake and misspelled her first name as Leonore instead of Lenore. She was a lovely woman and just laughed about it. The poem only other appearance is in her book of Collected Poems published in hardcover in 2012. Lenore sadly died in 2009.Lenore Kandel (1932-2009) was a Beat poet close to Lew Welch and Jack Kerouac who used her persona in his novels. She was a remarkable woman and poet who was hassled by the San Francisco Police department because her book, The Love Book was considered obscene, and they raided a store that was selling it which only resulted for the book to become a bestseller.***HAND-SIGNED BY LENORE KANDEL***The condition is FINE.Shipping and packaging in the U.S. due to size and weight is $6.95 and more for overseas.
