Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Up for auction is this Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, Charter #9247, $10.00 1929 Type-1 Small Size National, Fr. #1801-1, with treasury signatures of Edward E. Jones as Register of the Treasury and Walter O. Woods as Treasurer of The United States. The cashier of this bank is Geo. H. Krick and the President of the bank is S.A. Ramouat. This bank chartered in October of 1908. The bank issued 27,850 small size Nationals, from 1929 thru December 19, 1934 when it was placed into receivership. There were 4 National Banks in Shenandoah, two failed during the small size issuing period, this being one of those. This bank is the second most common in small size. The note has tight top obverse margin. There is dirt on both sides of the note, but a little more so on the reverse. There is 3/8” closed spindle mark that goes through the second “n” in Shenandoah. I see one tiny pinhole in the very center of the portrait. I would grade this note as VG/F. Please look at the scans carefully and judge the grade and quality of this note for yourself. The Kelly Census shows 39 small size notes reported on the bank. There are 15 - $10.00 Type 1’s, 6 - $10.00 Type -2’s, 13 - $20.00 Type 1’s, and 5 - $20.00 Type-2’s. This is a new note to the census. This note would make a fine addition to any Pennsylvania State banknote collection. The bank was located in Schuylkill County. This note should appeal to those collecting that County and its surrounding areas. Don’t let this note get away! I will include free standard shipping in the United States with tracking.
