Description: These shakers were manufactured by the Shawnee Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. These shakers were one of the items of the original Corn Ware line, which was manufactured around 1941. Sticker on each shaker says “Hand Painted Essex China Under the Glaze”. This line had white corn and was only available as a premium for Proctor & Gamble. In 1946, major changes were made to the Corn Ware line; including the color of the corn became yellow (and it stayed yellow) and it became available to everyone. Each shaker is approximately 5" tall and each shaker's base ring has a diameter of approximately 1 3/4". On one shaker the bottom plug is missing. Has original stickers which is very rare!
