Plain pale yellow endpapers. [i-vii], viii-xv, [xvi], [17], 18-510, [511-514] blank; at least three additional unpaginated illustration pages - pagination applied inconsistently. Frontispiece, ornamental title page preceding tp; dedication, publisher's notice, list of illus; preface, t-o-c; intro, XIII chaps, appendix (sic, really appendices, with texts of the Stamp Act, Declaration of Rights, and many other documents); Analytical index. Many b&w illustrations/maps, two in color. Condition notes: a handsome and solid ex-library copy of a mid-19th Century history. Spine slightly leaning, moderate sun darkening/staining to boards, some loss of gilt brightness. Spine ends rolled and frayed, corners bumped. Edges soiled and foxed. Historic library sticker remains to endpapers, in addition to earlier ownership signature to ffep. Pages generally unmarked but moderately foxed throughout, at times heavily; occasional pencil markings. Binding quite robust and solid. A delightful book. We personally inspect every book we offer.
