She isn't very stable just sitting on a table top, so we recommend either a case or installed her in a sewing table.* She is a "Potted" machine, known for her strong, direct drive train (doesn't use a belt), and was the very first sewing machine that Singer made completely electric (no hand crank or treadle option) for the domestic market. She sews a wide variety of materials, including leather and denim as well as lighter dressmaking materials The electric cords to the wall plug and pedal are new, and she has an original Singer foot pedalThe wiring inside the machine is original and still has the heavy duty covers over the wiring. We left these, as many of you collectors out there would probably like these original wiring covers, and can use them if you install the machine in a sewing table to continue protecting the wires. These slide off if you feel they are too bulky. :) The work light has been polished and is working well. We noticed it has new wiring at the socket, connecting to the original covered wiring inside the machine - a nice bonus. We found only one bulb of all of our sewing machine light bulbs that fit this fixture, so it's a bit finicky in what bulb it accepts. The one installed is new but not extra bright. ;) This machine features a large work areaShe comes with extra needles, zipper foot, thread spool felt, and a printed copy of the original manual An online blog about this wonderful machine says that it does well even with plastic bobbins, so we have included a couple of extra plastic bobbins for you. A few tiny chips and rubs in the finish here and there, but nothing that takes away from the beauty of the machine.
