The Thistle is sitting on a scroll with the wording, SEMPER VIGILO” Latin phase for Vigilant, always alert. The badge is top by the imperial crown of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Badge was originally design by Mr Cairns in 1928. Art teacher at Dumfries Academy and was adopted in 1953 to support the Queens Crown. Two fixing lugs on the reverse.
