Scarce Antique Vintage Hickory George Nicoll Scotland Patent Putter

Description: This item is a 35 1/2" right-handed hickory shafted putter. It is a George Nicoll Leven Fife Scotland Patented 1895 putter. An early smooth face with bent neck hosel. Described in the Hill Georgiady George Nicoll book (pages attached) as very rare. The head is in fair vintage condition. Not all rusted but it does have play nicks and dings and some pitting on the face. Please look at the many zoom pictures to get a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old hickory. It has a bend, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. Always re-set hickory irons prior to play. The grip is missing. A heavy F 1 swingweight. Very unusual weight for a putter. Book value set at $250.If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These old wooden shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee wooden shafts or heads against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old wooden shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old wooden shafted wood with a hard range ball.Shipping in the US is calculated and based on a 3-pound box.
