Broad red and purple veins set off the incredible colored traps, and pink and white areoles (windows) glow in the sun on the upright stout tubes, giving the plant an electrifying vivid appearance. The hoods are wide and notably ruffled and the lip is thick and blood red. The plant puts on a nice show of growth throughout the seasons, and produces dark red fragrant flowers in spring before new traps emerge. This is an outstanding accent plant and is very showy in display.Amazingly, this spectacular plant holds its pitchers well into December, even after a series of frost and light snow.
