Other folks have used this item to put a sail on a Walker Bay dinghy or aluminum rowboat. You would also need leeboards or a centerboard and a rudder (neither included), which you could make. Details: The sail is the typical small lateen-style sail used on Super Snarks and commonly designated a 45-square-foot sail. The boom and top spar (also known as the "gaff) are each ten feet long. The boom and top spar are the two aluminum poles that slide into the sleeves at the bottom and forward edges of the sail. The mast* is 87 inches tall and 1 1/4 inches in diameter. All three of these (boom, top spar and mast) come apart so that the whole thing can be folded into a 45-inch-long bundle for easy storage and transport. (And easy shipping to you!) Sturdy and durable: This equipment is well designed and well made and has stood the test of time, even in strong winds up to 20 mph. Metal parts are anodized, marine-alloy aluminum.
