They are plastic looking, but they are good size for what we needed and good drainage system. Seem sturdy enough to last a good bit, and look dont look as plastic-y from sidewalk/road. May add some streaked paint to help that look too. Plan to use along front door walkway, and looking from top through abundant flowers, they should look ok too.
