Description: Roman Republic silver quinarius, half of a denarius, from the period of anonymous issues, 187 BC-155 BC, Sear(1988 ed.) 104, CR.44/6, Syd.-14. The piece is approx. 14-16 mm diameter. The obverse shows a helmeted head of Roma to the right, with a "V" behind the head. The reverse shows the Dioscuri, the twins Castor and Pollock, on horseback, galloping to the right. There is a star over the head of each of the twins. "ROMA" in the exergue. This is a genuine original coin, not a copy, replica or reproduction.
