Rom The Space Knight 1979 Parker Brothers ORIGINAL Robot 1/6 Action Figure Works

Description: Please see all photos and videoROM The Space Knight. Parker Brother's rather brilliant but short lived entrance into the action figure world with this 12" beauty. The toy was actually created by Scott Dankman, Richard C. Levy, and Bryan L. McCoy and then sold to Parker Brothers. Up until that point, the company had only released games. Rom the toy predated the comic book series. Rom was one of the most high tech toys at the time, because he was somewhat programable to change his very distinct electronic sounds, and those cool red LED lights; but his lack of articulation was a detraction. This particular toy is in excellent and very clean condition. Very little in the way of scuffing. He looks great. His lens is very clean. A very nice example. The sounds all work as well as the lights, with the exception that the rocket pack LEDs don't light when that sound mode is selected. I'm not sure what would fail there or if they might be fixed. The legs are pretty snug. A lot of these have loose legs making it impossible to stand. Rom can stand, but due to the design and weight of the battery in his back, you need to lean him forward.He does not have the accessories or attachment wire, but he doesn't need them to go through the sound features, which are activated and changed by pressing one lever 1 - 5 times to change, and then pressing down the other to engage. I love how high tech it was for the time, but also how sort of primitive it is. A very cool toy. Comes from a smoke free environment
