The image has no defects. There is a half-moon shape in the tinted border on the right hand side of the print (not a crease). The lower right corner has a light crease from being bent. These are slight defects, not obvious, and half-moon shape would be very difficult to find once framed. Never framed and no fading whatsoever. An excellent copy to frame and enjoy. An absolute classic Battle of Britain image. Famous Battle of Britain Ace Sailor Malan leads 74 “Tiger” Squadron Spitfires in an attack on He-111s at 20,000 feet above London, 11 September 1940. Below, Hurricanes of 17 and 56 Squadrons have joined the battle. Harborne Stephen, who flew with Sailor Malan on this very mission, described the events of that encounter to Robert Taylor so he could craft “Height of the Battle”. Sadly, the opportunity for an artist to sit with one of the participants and have the sights of the battle described to him before painting the scene is no longer possible. That’s what makes these older, classic prints different from those produced today. What is shown in the photos is what you will receive.
