This is a rare December 1964 playbill from the Original Broadway production of the SIDNEY MICHAELS and MARK SANDRICH, JR. musical "BEN FRANKLIN IN PARIS" which played the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City. (The production opened October 27th, 1964 and ran for 215 performances.) ..... The musical starred ROBERT PRESTON and ULLA SALLERT (both shown in cover photo) and featured FRANKLIN KISER, BOB KALIBAN, BYRON WEBSTER, JACK FLETCHER, OLIVER CLARK, SAM GREENE, JERRY SCHAEFER and RITA GARDNER ..... CREDITS: Book and Lyrics by SIDNEY MICHAELS; Music by MARK SANDRICH, JR.; Sets designed by OLIVER SMITH; Costumes designed by MOTLEY; Directed and Choreographed by MICHAEL KIDD; Produced by GEORGE W. DETAILS: The 74 page playbill measures 6" X 9" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, list of musical numbers and bios of each of the leading actors but with the exception of the front cover, no cast photos. The playbill includes the illustration of producer DAVID MERRICK as "Santa" (third scanned image), Number 10 in the AL HIRSCHFELD series "Unlikely Casting" ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light edge discoloration to some inside pages, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian .....
