Description: This is a two map set which shows where everyone lived in the Town of Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut in 1867 and was reproduced on fine natural color parchment They're 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat. Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of Ridgefield. The pictures provided only show portions of the actual map. The first map shows the entire town along with the villages of Georgetown, Titicus, Ridgebury & Topstone and has 2 inset maps of Georgetown (was Ridgefield Station) and Titicus (was Titticus) and the second map shows the central village area of Ridgefield and also contains an inset map of New Canaan. There are also business directories on each map. Also shown on the maps are the features known as Norwalk River, Round Pond, Great Pond, Mamanasco Lake, Danbury-Norwalk Railroad, Stamford-Ridgefield Railroad & NY and Northern Housatonic Railroad. Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Bates, Smith, Scott, Northrop, Sherwood, Stone, Hawkins, Beers, Mead and so many more that it's impossible to list! Please note that many of the names are very small due to the expansive area this map covers. Also indicated on the maps are schools, streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
