The star sits on a wooden base bearing a brass plaque which reads “With deep appreciation, Richard Nixon’s signature, and November 1972″. “THE PRESIDENTIAL STAR” The origins of this design: a gift from Ambassador Walter Annenberg, was sculpted in crystal by Steuben Glass and occupied a place of honor on The President's desk in the Oval office.
